Background: Jon Fredrik Baksaas was appointed President and CEO of Telenor in June 2002. Under his leadership the total number of subscriptions in the 12 mobile operations of Telenor Group increased from 21 million in June 2002 to 164 million by the end of 2008. In terms of subscriptions, this makes Telenor Group one of the largest mobile operators in the world. In addition, the company has recently announced the launch of operations in one of the world’s fastest growing countries – India. Prior to his appointment as President and CEO, Jon Fredrik Baksaas held the positions of Deputy CEO, CFO and Executive Vice President of Telenor with overall responsibility for Telenor networks and communication services in Norway. Before joining Telenor in 1989, Baksaas served as CFO of Aker AS, CFO of Stolt-Nielsen Seaway and held finance-related positions at Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in Norway and Japan. Baksaas is currently a board member of Svenska Handelsbanken AB, the GSM Association, and is a member of the Advisory Council of Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

Education: Master of Science degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen. He also holds qualifications from IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Background: Ole Bjørn Sjulstad joined Telenor in 2000 as Vice President. He has been Head of the Telenor Group representative office in Russia since March 2009. From 2002 to 2004, he served as Managing Director and Head of Telenor Asia, based in Singapore, and was subsequently in charge of Asian emerging markets as Senior Vice President and Development Director at Telenor headquarters in Norway. In May 2007, Sjulstad joined the regional division of Telenor Group for Central and Eastern Europe. Ole Bjørn Sjulstad is a member of the Board of Directors of VimpelCom Ltd. and the Grameenphone mobile operator (Bangladesh), which is part of Telenor Group. He has previously served on the boards of Telenor telecom companies in Thailand and Malaysia.

Education: Masters degree in Technical Design (MME) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). He also holds qualifications (management training course) from IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Switzerland.
