Telenor’s Rune Harald Rækken Spoke at LTE Russia & CIS Forum 2010 in Moscow
(Fornebu, Norway, and Moscow, Russia, May 28, 2010). Rune Harald Rækken, Head of LTE and technical supplier management at Telenor Corporate Development, attended the 2nd International “Evolution of Mobile Networks—LTE Russia & CIS 2010” Business Forum in Moscow on May 25 and 26, 2010.
In his keynote presentation, “Telenor’s View of LTE—Positioning and Outlook”, Rune Harald Rækken discussed the main opportunities and services based on LTE technologies and told the audience about Telenor’s experience with LTE technology deployment and the future of these technologies.
LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a fourth-generation mobile communications technology supporting broadband data transmission. The first LTE network was launched in late 2009 in Sweden. A large number of networks are scheduled for deployment in a number of countries, including Russia, over the next few years.
The 2nd International LTE Business Forum hosted by ComNews, a leading Russian telecommunications industry publisher, was attended by leading Russian and international ICT companies as well as government and regulatory officials. The 2010 forum was focused on opportunities and the future of LTE mobile networks in Russia and CIS. Forum attendants, including representatives of VimpelCom, MTS, MefaFon, SkyLink, Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson and other industry leaders, used this opportunity to share and exchange their experience and discuss current state of development and the near-term future of LTE mobile networks in Russia and CIS.
