Head of Telenor Russia Speaks At Russia Forum 2010
Ole Bjorn Sjulstad, Senior Vice-President of Telenor Group and the CEO of Telenor Russia, has spoken at the Russia Forum 2010 conference organized by Troika Dialog investment company.

Held in Moscow on Feb 3-5, the Russia Forum has brought together ranking government officials and heads of ministries, directors of leading Russian and international companies, leading industry experts and businessmen. Ole Bjorn Sjulstad has participated in a round table debate “Broadband Market: Driving the Growth and Consolidation”, where he made introductory remarks as a representative of a market participant who has already survived the broadband growth. ”Innovation, especially service innovation, rather than of technologies, is what you need for market to continue growing when you think it has reached saturation,” Mr Sjulstad said.
Telenor Group s experience is indeed very valuable to the Russian market which is currently facing saturation of voice services and is looking for new services and technologies to take the market further. The distinguished panel, which included also top managers of mobile operators VimpelCom, MTS and MegaFon, recognised that estimated that the Russian broadband market can expect to see growth of more than 20% a year over the next several years, possibly reaching $5 bln by 2015. Most of this expansion will come from the regions, where penetration is as low as 6% of the population.
