Initiatives in Russia

The Bolshoi Theatre

Telenor Group supports remarkable initiatives related to the arts and culture the world over. Since May 2008, the company has been the official sponsor of Russia's Bolshoi State Academic Theatre, a true symbol of the very essence of Russia’s rich cultural heritage, i.e. its unique ballet and opera traditions. We actively support the Bolshoi’s cooperation with the Norwegian National Theatre and the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet.

Telenor supports educational projects carried out under the auspices of the Krupskaya Moscow Region State Children's Library. In 2007, the company organised “Norway Week”, which offered children an opportunity to take part in a literary competition to test their knowledge of Norway. Three winners and their families won a visit to Norway. In 2008, Telenor became the sponsor of a reading competition: the 'Family That Reads the Most', organised by the Library.
